The Vinciolo Journal Reviews Gateways
Just over a week to the big day, and there’s a new review of Gateways out, this time by Matthew Rettino of The Vinciolo Journal. Matthew is a Montrealer who studies historical fantasy literature, with a special interest in the work of Guy Gavriel Kay, perhaps the greatest Canadian writer in the genre. So needless to say, I was a little bit nervous wondering what Matthew would think of my novel, but I’m gratified that he chose to compliment many of the things that were most important to me: the world building, the “cost” of the magic, and the novel’s antagonist … which is the war itself.
And check out other reviews on the Goodreads page.
